Wool is naturally advanced. Here's some of our favourite features:

Wool can absorb 30% of its own weight in moisture, without feeling wet. As the moisture is absorbed, the wool will generate heat. This warmth makes the wool feel comfortable even when it is wet or you are sweaty and it is cold. At the same time, the wool breathes, which means that you will not overheat.

The fibers in the wool react to changes in your body temperature and regulate the temperature level in both cold and heat. Wool fibers have a unique insulating ability due to their frizzy structure. The unique texture forms small air pockets that provide warmth and insulation on cold days. When it's hot, wool's ability to absorb moisture will have a cooling effect on body temperature.

Sweat has no smell. It is the by-product of the bacteria that break down the sweat on the surface of the skin, which causes what we know as sweaty smell. Wool's ability to absorb large amounts of moisture means that the bacteria do not thrive. Therefore, you will notice much less sweat smell on wool than on synthetic fibres.

Wool absorbs UV rays more effectively than most other materials. In UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor), depending on the garment's density and treatment, woolen clothing usually has a UPF between 20 and 50.

Because of its high nitrogen and water content, wool requires a large amount of oxygen to ignite. The heat source must rise to at least 570 degrees, and even then wool is unlikely to catch fire. The fiber structure and the high density of the yarn prevent flames from spreading and give wool the ability to self-extinguish. 

Wool fibers behave a bit like a spring. The natural frizzy texture allows the fiber to stretch out, while staying true to its original shape. This means that wool garments are naturally resistant to wrinkles.

Wool is stain resistant and has self-cleaning properties. The outer layer of the wool fiber is coated with a protective layer that prevents dirt from getting stuck in the fiber. Because of its high moisture content, wool is also antistatic, meaning it does not attract as much dust.
